Please follow the steps below:



  1. Go to “My Workspace” and click “Search Patient”

  2. The system will open “Search Patient” Screen as displayed below


            

     3. Click “New Patient”

     4. Enter patient’s ID Number without any spaces

     5. Click “Check”, the sysem will check Netpractice database if the patient exists.

         If the Patient exists, the system will prompt you to update the Patient’s details.

     6. Click “Skip” if the you don’t have the Patient’s ID number



    

    7.    Netpractice automatically allocates file numbers, you may change this number if you are keeping your own file numbering system


    8.     “ID No.” will automatically be populated if you entered Patient ID Number during Step (4)

            “Date of Birth” will automatically be populated if you entered Patient ID Number during Step (4)

            “Age” will automatically be populated if you entered Patient ID Number on Step (4)

            “Gender” will automatically be populated if you entered Patient ID Number on Step (4)


    9.     Enter Dependent Number as provided on the Patient’s Medical Aid Card. You may enter “0” for cash Patient and “1” for the first Dependent, “2” for the Second Dependent, e.t.c


    10.    Enter Patient’s Initials without any spaces (e.g. “AJ”)


    11.    Enter Patients’s Full Names as provided on the Medial Aid Card or Patient’s Identity Document (e.g. “Allan John”)


    12.    Click “Next” to proceed to the next Tab




    13.    Enter patient’s Medical Aid Number, for Private/Cash Patients - leave this field empty


    14.    Use the Drop Down to select the Medical Aid


    15.    Use the Drop Down to Select “Scheme Plan/Option”


    16.    Use the Drop Down to Select “Pricelist” for the specific Medical Scheme (e.g. Select “Gems” if Medical Scheme is “Gems”)


            Please ensure that you select the correct pricelist


            Pricelist is usually the same name as the Medical Aid, where pricelist is not provided, please select “Universal”

    17.    Click “Next” to proceed to the next Tab



    18.    Enter Patient Address (e.g. No 21 Street Name)


    19.    Enter the first few letters of the Suburb or City. The system will automatically give you a list of Suburb/City to select from


    20.    Select “Suburb/City” from the drop down list

            Select “Other” if the “Suburb/City” you are looking for is not on the list provided.

            The system will provide you with additional fields to manually add the Suburb/City of your choice




    21. The system will automatically populate “City” after making selection during Step (20)

          Click on the “City” name if the Selected City is not the correct city you are looking for, the system will provide you with additional options to select from.


    22.    Enter Patient’s “Email Address”, this is not a compulsosry field, however, by entering the Patient’s email address, the Patient will automatically receive an email from Netpractice notifying them that you have added them to Netpractice and provide them with their “Username” and “Password”. Refer to www.netpractice.co.za, “our application” to read more about “Patient Login” functionality


    23.    Click “Same and Physical Address” If the Patient’s physical address is the same as the Postal Address. Else follow Steps (18 – 21) to capture Patient’s Postal Address details


    24.    Enter Patient’s Cell Number. You may use this field to enter any other Contact Number incase the patient does not have a Cell Number. (e.g. Home Number – 021 000 0000)


    25.    Click on “Unspecified” if the Patient has “Allergy” and make appropriate selection from the drop down provided. Else skip this step and proceed to the next step


    26.    Click “Save” so save the Patient Information on Netpractice



    27.    Click “Ok” to clear “SAVE CONFIRMATION” Notification.


    28.    Click “ADD DEPENDENT” if you would like to add a Dependent
